Pardon the delay... We have set up a new network at our house and the wretched thing is a pain in my rear end! It has it's own mind! ... I digress...
Please pray for the Mac Davis family, he passed away on Wednesday.
Also, Robin Prestridge's cousin Christy Roebuck Thompson had a double mastectomy Wednesday because she has breast cancer. Christy is only 30 years old and has a 4 year old daughter and a 1 year old son.
From Richard Pike:
Just wanted to give you an update on my Lt's dad. He had the surgery Friday and was supposed to come home yesterday, but I haven't heard yet if he actually is at home yet. They are still doing tests to see if they got all of the cancer, but he and his family still need all the prayer they can get.
A forwarded e-mail:
I know you've all heard about the things going on around Oxford Exchangeand the Mall.About people following others out to their cars and trying to get themto go with them back to theirs, trying to rob or kidnap them.Anyway, this happened to my daughter in law, Kelli, Saturday, in broaddaylight as she was getting off work at Verizon. She works at the Verizon store, in the shopping center across from themall, where CiCi ' s Pizza is.Anyway, she was getting into her car when 2 black women approached hercar, saying they had just been robbed and needed help. She was already in her car, with the keys in the ignition when one ofthe women put her arm in the window and tried to get the keys out of theignition. The other was trying to get into the passenger door.Kellie said she just floored the car, almost running over them andcalled 911.She gave a description of the women. She called Verizon and told them what had just happened and the mansaid, 'I see them across the street at the mall, now, trying to talk topeople coming out of the mall'.I have been telling her about whats been going on around the mall andthats how she knew something was not right. She had the sense to take off. Thank God she was not hurt.Jeremy is going to call Oxford today and find out if they found thewomen. Please be very careful when you to anywhere around Oxford , even in broaddaylight !And please watch your daughters when they go!Times are getting harder and people are getting meaner!
RCHS Info:
Tuesday, October 14th is make-up picture day.
Despite the final score... the week leading up to the Woodland game was a lot of fun and had a lot of things planned.
The blackout peprally was pretty cool.
The girls volleyball tourny was a lot of fun. The volleyball team beat Handley, then lost to Woodland. However, there where a lot of people and the cheerleaders there for the volley girls. Thanks for coming out and supporting them!
Everyone enjoyed the football game (inspite of the score) and even the Woodland fans showed up in their blue... they even had special t-shirts made up in blue! Thanks for supporting our team, Woodland... (I think) no one was injured... not sure about that one, though.
Pam Johnson found a cool website that is free that sports teams may use as their web pages. Log on to www.High5Sports.com . On the right hand side of the screen is a drop down box for State and sport. It list every school in Alabama. It is really cool. This is part of Fox 5 News.
Again, sorry for the delay, and if I missed anything, please let me know!
Have a blessed day!
Donna
