Continue to keep the Thackstons in your prayers. Will is really sore, but ok. June, on the other hand, has broken areas in her neck, back, and sternum. She can move her hands and legs, so thankfully she is not paralyzed. This morning I spoke with Kim Watkins who is a close friend and also works for them. She told me that June is awaiting surgery. The doctor who is needed was not in town yesterday, so they are waiting for him to get back in town to proceed. Some of you may not know, but June has already had extensive, multiple surgeries on her neck and back (over the past few years, before the wreck). She has really had a rough time. They think the airbag is what did most of the damage to her. She has also been battling a form of leukemia. She has recently finished her chemo. MAN!!!! When it rains it pours... She was transferred from a Pell City hospital to UAB. According to her son she is in a LOT of pain. I will keep you updated as I get info.
Add Pam Starkey's hubby, Marty Starkey, and her Daddy to the prayer list. Marty goes for his second epidural on the 30th. So far the first one has not helped much. Her Daddy also has to have epidurals for his upper back. They still don't have an appt. for him yet and he is in pain. Be praying that he will be OK for the Saturday honor that Wedowee is giving him.

an event at the 2nd Annual Boat Show at Chimney Cove in Wedowee.
This is a great church, club, boy scout etc project for youths and adults. And only $20 to enter. All proceeds go to the Randolph County Animal Shelter. I have already heard of half a dozen boats under construction, including two local business' entries. YE HA !
It's going to be a hoot (see vid below) and better yet, you can win one of 11 plaques for your team. Plus each rower on each winning team wins a really kewl medal too. (and every kid age 6 to 9 gets a medal too, just for rowing !) Our boats won't be as fancy as these: www.youtube.com/watch?v=aLPb5AHM3b8 but will fire up your imagination.
To make it easy for you to participate we have collected a lot of corrugated cardboard to share with boat builders; you can pickup your free cardboard sheets and tubes at Norton Flooring in Wedowee. Please only take what you can use. Additional boxes are available at ur local Lowe's/Home Depot; if you call ahead they don't crush it. Questions? Call me (256)363-1056
