08/18/08

FBCW had a very moving Deacon Ordination Service last night. The families and friends of Brian Cross and Mark Prestridge looked on as these two men were prayed over and ordained...it was a wonderful experience for all who were present. Brian and Mark will begin their service as Deacons at the August meeting, along with the other newly re-elected deacons. Congratulations and blessings to you guys!

Deb Morris' dad has been ill lately. Please keep him in your prayers.

Mr. Lovvorn Holmes told me that Mrs. Betty went to her cancer specialist this past week. The doc told her that she was a true miracle! Awesome!!!! Mr. Lovvorn was so proud!

Tyler Hobbs' ankle was broken in football practice last week. From what I understand, both bones above his ankle were broken, but his growth plates were not injured. He was seen at Scottish Rite Hospital... they placed a full leg cast on him for the next week, he will then return to see if he needs surgery. I heard he was in a LOT of pain, but Stacy is trying to keep on top of it, so hopefully he had a decent weekend. Best of luck to you Tyler! Also, the Hobbs' oldest, Ryan, injured his leg and required stitches. I hear he is doing ok, but Stacy and Van are probably haggard! Pray for this family... that's always how it seems to be... when it rains, it pours!

Brooke Laney has an appointment Sept. 3 with her kidney specialist.

Bobby Malone (FBCW former youth minister) will have his wisdom teeth removed on 08/25. He has never been put to sleep and is rather anxious about that... also, he has SEVEN wisdom teeth! woah! That's gonna be something to recover from!

Sharon Daniel's mom took a spill on Saturday night. She is ok, but it scared the family. Sharon is also not getting much rest... she is worn out from all of the recent things going on with their parents, and also her surgery... hopefully she will get some rest soon. Ricky's mom is heading to Wedowee Hospital today. I hope that transfer goes smoothly.

Kayla and Tiffany Cole asked for prayer for their grandmother (not Glynda Chisholm - the other one).

College begins this week for most students. Pray for a smooth transition for these students.

Have a great week!
