08/10/08

Wow, we had a really full house at FBCW this morning. Both the 8:30 and the 11:00 service were at max capacity... What a difference being in school makes. No one is out on their summer vacation, so it really fills the sanctuary up!

A couple of prayer requests...

Brittney Banzhof is at home with mono and possible strep... poor girl! Those are two rough illnesses to have, much less at the same time! Hang in there Britt!

Brooke Laney was hospitalized this past week with a severe UTI. She got out of the hospital yesterday, and said that she is feeling better, but has an appointment with a specialist on Monday to decide why she is having so many of these. She has had kidney surgery in the recent past and is still plagued with the infections...I hope you are feeling better soon, Brooke!

James and Jennifer Newkirk have been having some tests run for various ailments... Jennifer had a sleep study done because of sleep apnea. James has had several tests run and will soon have to return for some additional surgery on a recently repaired hernia. (Thanks Trevor for the updates).

Extra special prayers go out to the families of Richard Pike and Joey Reid. Richard will be leaving for Washington state for about one month, then heading to Iraq for approx 1 year. Double stinky because of that new little man (Mason) that he and Amanda have... also, Joey Reid is leaving soon for Iraq. Please pray for a hedge of protection around these two outstanding men as they defend our nation's freedom!

Condolences to Billy Smith and his family. Billy's mom passed away this past week.

FBCW will hold it's deacon ordination service next Sunday, August 17, 2008. We have two new deacons to be ordained. Blessings to Brian Cross and Mark Prestridge. Be in prayer for them, their families, and the other recently elected, already ordained, deacons and their families. It is a huge undertaking and responsibility to represent and lead the church body, but I know that God places the leadership of the church, so He also prepares the hearts of the candidates and their families.

I hope you all have a great week!
D
