Richard, Amanda, and Mason Pike (and family)

SPECIAL Prayer Request!!!!!
(the picture to left was taken at Mason's dedication service)

Richard Pike leaves for his ONE YEAR tour of duty in Iraq this Thursday. He will be leaving Thursday to go to Washington State for about a month, then have a couple of days off (Amanda and Mason are going to try and go see him then) and then leave for Iraq. Richard is a medic. He is saving lives! Pray that God will place His arms around this family and a triple strength hedge of protection around Richard! We love you Richard, Amanda, and Mason... we will be here for Amanda and Mason (I know it is little consolation to you, but hopefully it will help some...). Just know that we, as your church family and friends, will do everything possible to make things run smoothly here for your family, so you won't have to be worried about the day to day things in Wedowee. Amanda, should you need ANYTHING.... all you have to do is mention it and I am sure there will be a line of folks willing and ready to help you!
This is going to be a real tough time for all involved, Amanda, Richard, Mason, grandparents, friends, etc.

Richard's brother is to return from HIS tour of Iraq today at 4:30.

Also, the Pairs and Spares ss class will be taking Richard’s company on as a project by sending cards and stuff ( I will get the details posted as soon as I receive them). Let's make this young couple feel so loved that they have huge joy in their hearts, even under adversity!

Pairs and Spares Sunday School class has been sending school back packs filled with school items to children in Western Virginia mining towns. We have a designated number of back packs to do and if anyone would like to help have them see Brenda Payne.

Below is a prayer request from Shauna Denney (Heart's Desire Photography)
Please pray for the Lipford Family…..

The above picture is of Austin Lipford, and was taken back in June at my niece’s 1st birthday party. Austin was a 13 year old boy who attended our church on Wednesday nights for our youth services. He had a terrible accident on his 4-wheeler on Friday afternoon in our youth pastor’s yard. The injuries sustained in the accident claimed his life. I am sending this to you to ask you to please pray for his family, and for our youth pastor’s family who is taking it very hard. His parents had previously lost a younger sibling at the age of 4 also. We are all devastated. As you can see he was a beautiful young man with a contagious smile. For those of you who have children with 4 wheelers, please do not allow them to ride without a helmet. Just last week, my nephew Hunter also had a bad 4 wheeler accident and was not wearing a helmet. He sustained many injuries also, but is recovering well. We are very blessed to still have him with us. This has been a terrible reminder of how quick tragedy can strike. Thank you for your prayers!
