RCHS Announcements:

ATTENTION CLASS OF 2010!!! The Balfour reps (Class Rings) will be here on Wednesday, August 27th at 8:00 am. Remember to bring a $60 deposit or you may pay in full. Any senior who has not purchased their official high school class ring may take this opportunity to order also! Mrs. Phibbs has the envelopes for ordering Balfour class rings IF a student was absent on Monday (yesterday)!!

Family Fun Day will be August 31st from 4:00-9:00 at French-Hammond Park in Wedowee. There will be a rock climbing wall, obstacle course, helicopter rides, games, food and more!! To enter the talent show and earn a free t-shirt, pick up a registration form in the high school office.

Midway United Methodist Church, 431 South, will host 5th Quarter after the ballgame Friday night. All students in grades 7-12 are invited as well as faculty and staff.

The Womanless Beauty Pageant is set for Thursday, August 28th at 7:00 pm. If you would like to participate, pick up an application from Mrs. Robyn Wortham. There is no charge to enter. There will be a $2.00 admission fee.

FACULTY & STAFF: We are planning to have a teacher dress-alike day on Friday, August 22nd. This is the day of the fall jamboree. We are asking all who will to participate. We are going to wear jeans and the gray t-shirts Mrs. Robyn Wortham is selling. These shirts are only $10 and she has all sizes in stock. You can get them from her in the computer lab in the high school in the mornings or send a note and she will have them delivered.

Sign up for Key Club with Mrs. Robertson by Thursday, August 21st. Brief meeting at break on Thursday in Room 122.

High School Yearbooks go on sale on Monday, August 25th.

Fall pictures will be made on Thursday, September 25th. Senior make-up day will be this day also.


A small note from me: I (Donna Phillips just in case some of you don't know who writes this crazy stuff) had a routine checkup last week, and because I have reached the wondrous... magic number of 40, it was time for the first routine torture treatment... er, I mean, mammogram.... anyway, thought nothing of it... until... they called yesterday to tell me that they see a "mass" on the left side and want to start by doing another mammogram and sonogram. I have been reassured from numerous friends that this happens frequently, but with the year that we've had, it's not such a great time frame for me and my emotions (and of course I am a Thomas, so that doubting Thomas kicks in)... please pray for peace. I probably wouldn't have put this on, but I know that prayer works when it is done en mass... I am still struggling with the why's of my daddy's case... so I need you guys' help.

I also heard that there was another friend having a sonogram today, for the same reason. I haven't spoken with her personally, so I won't put her name (just in case she would prefer privacy)... just pray for overall peace. The waiting is the hardest part of anything!
