The following excerpt is from a newsletter from Jean Stephens of Crucified Life Ministries... they have a large ministry in El Salvador in which they do medical clinics, provide sponsorship for children to attend school, and most importantly spiritual clinics... they have 100+ salvations almost EVERY time they go down for a trip. They have made a recent trip and my mom, Barbara Thomas, was on this last one. Jean is her life long BFF... =]
Although the entire week was filled with challenges, we were victorious. We gave out $2,000 worth of beans, rice and tortilla flour, thousands of vitamins, medicines and Bibles. Our one dentist worked tirelessly. We rejoiced to see over 100 people saved. We also assisted the local doctors as they treated hundreds of people.
We have some new children that need sponsors. I don't have their names yet, the pastors wife will send me the information soon. Look at their pictures and if God touches your heart to sponsor one, just let me know. The cost is $150 for the year 2009. This will pay for their uniform, backpack, shoes and supplies.
Special thanks to the VBS children of Wedowee First Baptist Church for donating their offerings of the week ($500). This sponsored three children for a year and gave a donation a deserving family.
In Christ,

Sharon Daniel is recovering nicely from her surgery. They believe that she will be able to come home late this morning. Have continued prayers for her and her family.
I have not personally spoken to Charley or Kim. I have heard that she made it home safely and was asleep... (that's why I didn't call) Keep them in the prayers.
Suzy Paris is in Wedowee Hospital (or still was as of last night) with a possible heart attack. They are continuing to do testing on her. Pray for her, Brother Don, and their two boys as they are waiting to find out what is going on with her. How frustrating it is to sit and wait and not know what is going on with a loved one... Also pray for complete healing.
We also have lots of people in our community who are struggling with personal issues... Pray for peace, good health, and most of all spiritual guidance for Wedowee and it's families. If you look around, you probably run into at least one person a day who has a hidden pain... but still puts a smile on and moves along with their life. Pray for strength for our friends! =]
Have a blessed day! D
